  • Khalea Johnson

    Hometown: Jackson, MS

    Host Country: Taiwan

What do you see yourself doing in 5-10 years?

“In five years, I see myself teaching as a TESOL educator in Taiwan. In 10 years, I see myself coming back to my hometown to help implement a foreign language program for Black students in the schools I attended. Coming from an underfunded, predominantly Black environment, I’ve always wanted to go out into the world, develop my skills, and come back to my community to help it grow. While abroad, I will focus on improving my Mandarin skills, immersing myself in the culture, and developing my instructional skills by participating in teaching opportunities at my host university.”

  • Daijah Marie Caroline Scott

    Hometown: Queens, New York

    Host Country: Netherlands

What do you see yourself doing in 5-10 years?

“In the next 5–10 years, I see myself working at the intersection of economics, public policy, and social impact. Ideally, I hope to serve as an analyst in a role such as the Office of Corporate Engagement, focusing on global societal issues and the economic barriers that shape them. With time and resources, I intend to create a nonprofit centered on challenging punitive carceral systems and supporting approaches grounded in transformation, dignity, and restoration. Studying abroad in Amsterdam is an important part of that journey.”

  • Kelci Cunningham

    Hometown: Silver Spring, Maryland

    Host Country: Brazil

What do you see yourself doing in 5-10 years?

"In 5-10 years, I see myself as an individual with expertise on the government and economy. Additionally, I see myself attending Princeton University or Georgetown University, studying for my masters degree in International Relations. Through my program, I see myself being abroad again, but for more of an impactful experience. I envision myself giving back to a community whether its teaching a class to students, helping to build schools and other necessities, and more. Through this experience, I want to make a difference in peoples lives."

  • Isaiah Kariel White

    Hometown: Conyers, Georgia

    Host Country: England

What do you see yourself doing in 5-10 years?

“In the next five years, I see myself deeply immersed in the world of professional filmmaking, working as an Entry-Level Screenwriter for a dynamic production house or studio. I plan to leverage the unique cultural insights and international storytelling perspectives gained during my study abroad to differentiate my work. Looking ten years out, my ambition is to be an established Director of Photography or perhaps a Creative Producer, actively developing and leading projects that bridge cultural divides and tell compelling, internationally focused stories. Ultimately, I want my work to reflect the global connectivity that opportunities like this, using film as a powerful medium for empathy and understanding.”
