Investing in Global Opportunity: Joy Worldwide Inc. Is Seeking Grant Funding
At Joy Worldwide Inc., we believe access to global education shouldn't depend on a student's financial background, family experience, or access to resources.
As we continue growing our programs and preparing to support future cohorts, we're actively seeking grant opportunities and funding partners that align with our mission of making international education more accessible.
We're especially interested in connecting with foundations, corporations, organizations, and grantmakers supporting education, youth development, professional development, equitable access to opportunity, and historically underrepresented students.
Why Grant Funding Matters
Studying abroad can provide students with much more than an international academic experience.
Living and learning in another country can help students develop independence, adaptability, intercultural communication, confidence, and a broader understanding of the world. These experiences can also introduce students to international networks and perspectives that influence their academic and professional futures.
However, financial and informational barriers can make accessing these opportunities significantly more difficult—particularly for first-generation students and students from communities historically underrepresented in international education.
Grant funding allows organizations like Joy Worldwide Inc. to help close that gap.
What Grant Funding Can Help Support:
As Joy Worldwide grows, funding can help us expand the resources available to students before, during, and after their international experiences.
We're particularly interested in grants supporting the following areas:
Education & Global Learning
Funding can help students access international educational experiences that complement their academic studies while exposing them to new cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking.
Accessible Opportunities
One of our priorities is reducing the financial and informational barriers that can prevent students from considering study abroad in the first place.
Grant support can help expand scholarships and resources that make global education more attainable.
Youth & Underrepresented Students
First-generation students and students from historically underrepresented backgrounds may have fewer resources or opportunities to pursue international experiences.
We're especially interested in funding opportunities designed to increase educational access and create more equitable pathways for these students.
Professional & Career Development
International experiences can help students develop skills that extend beyond the classroom, including adaptability, communication, problem-solving, independence, leadership, and cultural awareness.
Grants focused on workforce readiness, leadership development, career exploration, or professional development can help us strengthen this part of the student experience.
Student Support & Preparation
The cost of a study abroad program isn't the only potential barrier.
Students may also need support navigating passports, visas, language preparation, pre-departure planning, flights, and the transition to living in another country.
Funding can help Joy Worldwide provide a more complete support system around the study abroad experience.
What Types of Grants Are We Looking For?
Our mission intersects with several areas of philanthropy, so a potential funding opportunity doesn't necessarily need to be labeled specifically as a "study abroad grant."
We're interested in opportunities supporting:
Higher education
Educational equity and access
First-generation college students
Historically underrepresented students
Youth development
Career readiness
Workforce development
Leadership development
Professional development
Global education and cultural exchange
College access and student success
Economic mobility
There are several established grantmaking programs whose focus areas demonstrate how global education can intersect with broader philanthropic priorities.
Joy Worldwide Has Seen What Grant Support Can Do
Grant funding is already helping Joy Worldwide expand access to international education.
In 2025, Joy Worldwide Inc. received grant support from organizations including the CT Charitable Foundation and EMMIE Collective to advance global scholarship initiatives and expand access to global education.
These partnerships demonstrate what becomes possible when funders and mission-driven organizations work together: more resources, more opportunities, and ultimately more students who are able to experience education beyond borders.
As our programs grow, we're looking to build on that momentum with additional organizations that share our commitment to accessible global education.
Know of a Grant That Aligns With Our Mission?
We'd love to hear from you.
If you work with a foundation, corporation, community organization, or grantmaking institution—or simply know of a funding opportunity supporting education, professional development, youth, equitable access, first-generation students, or historically underrepresented communities—we invite you to connect with Joy Worldwide Inc.
We're also open to conversations about corporate partnerships, sponsorships, employee giving, in-kind support, and other opportunities to expand access to global education.
Every new funding opportunity has the potential to help another student access an experience they may have once believed was out of reach.
Help Us Expand What's Possible
The next generation of students is preparing to enter an increasingly global workforce.
We want more of them to have the opportunity to experience the world, develop meaningful skills, build international connections, and return home with perspectives that can shape their futures.
Grant funding and strategic partnerships can help us make that possible.
Know of a grant, foundation, or funding opportunity that aligns with our mission? We'd love to connect.
