Position Overview
We’re looking for a creative, mission-aligned Public Relations Intern to support the development and amplification of Joy Worldwide’s brand and voice. This role is ideal for someone passionate about travel, storytelling, and social impact. The intern will contribute to crafting compelling narratives, building relationships with media, and increasing visibility for our work and mission.
Responsibilities
Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and organizational announcements
Help manage media lists and identify relevant journalists, outlets, and opportunities
Support press outreach for major initiatives (e.g., scholarship announcements, campaign launches)
Research and draft social media captions aligned with key PR moments
Monitor media coverage and track PR performance metrics
Contribute to the development of a press kit and brand materials
Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across platforms
Ideal Candidate
Has personal experience with travel or study abroad
Demonstrates a passion for social impact, equity in education, and nonprofit work
Strong writer and communicator with a gift for storytelling
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Self-starter with experience or interest in working in mission-driven organizations
Familiarity with media monitoring or PR platforms is a plus (e.g., Muck Rack, Meltwater, Google Alerts)
Organized, proactive, and comfortable working remotely with a small, collaborative team
Deeply values cultural exchange and the transformative power of global experiences
